サウジノクラシ - The climate of Saudi Arabia サウジアラビアの気候

サウジアラビアは砂漠気候（地図の赤い部分）に属します。雨はほとんど降りませんが、10～1月にざざっと降ることがあります。2012年11月下旬に西海岸のアブワという農村で洪水が起きています。

Saudi Arabia belongs to the hot desert climate region (the red part of the map above).  There’s almost no rainfall throughout the year, but it sometimes rains heavily from October to January.  Abwa, a small farming village of Western Saudi Arabia, was washed away by a flood in the late November last year.  

今暮らしている西海岸の真ん中あたり（北緯21度ほど）では、12～2月が最低気温20℃前後、最高気温30℃前後で、比較的過ごしやすい季節です。3月になってから、じわじわと気温が上がり始めています。これからまた暑い季節がやって来るなあ･･･という感じです。

The low temperature is about 20 ℃ (68 °F), the high is about 30 ℃ (86 °F) in the western coastal area where we live  (latitude of approximately 21 degrees north) from December to February, and it is a little more bearable season.  The temperature is gently increasing this month, in March.  Scorching hot days are coming again…  

冬から夏への季節の変わり目である4月くらいに、ひどい砂嵐がやって来ることもあるようです。そして夏。5～9月は最低気温30℃前後、最高気温40℃前後。昼間はもう絶対外に出たくないと思うくらいあっつい！です。上の写真は2012年7月下旬、午後2時の気温です。46℃･･･(ーー;)。

In April, when seasons change from winter to summer, we may happen to have heavy sandstorms.  And summer comes.  The low temperature is about 30 ℃ (86 °F), the high is about 40 ℃ (104°F) from May to September.  It’s too hot to think of going out during daytime!  The picture above shows the temperature of 2 o’clock in the afternoon, late July in 2012.  46 ℃ (115 °F)…
