先週末から、これまで木・金曜日だった週末（日本の土・日曜日）が、金・土曜日に変更されました。突然の施行っぷりにビックリです。6月23日（日）に発表、その週末からいきなり施行されました。

The weekend in Saudi Arabia has been changed from Thursday and Friday to Friday and Saturday.  The implementation was all of the sudden. They made an announcement just 4 days before implementing the new weekend.

これからラマダンに入るため、多くのサウジ人が休暇を取って国外脱出するのですが、航空会社は新しい時刻表の組み直しに苦労しているとも。新週末を知らなかったカフェテリアの店員さん、いつも繁盛していた土曜日がいきなりガラガラで、驚かされたという話も。このむちゃぶりに振り回されている人たちがたくさんいるようです。。。

Airlines face the difficulty to reschedule their flights before the busy holiday season.  Some people even didn’t know the new weekend.  One cafeteria worker was allegedly surprised by the sight of unusual empty seats on Saturday morning.  Many people seem to get pushed around…
