サウジノクラシ - Happy New Hijrah Year 1436! イスラム暦の新年

New year of the Islamic calendar has started yesterday, the 25th of October, 2014. And the summer time has ended in Europe, too. Now we are 3-hour ahead of Greenwich mean time and it makes TV programs of JSTV (Japanese satellite broadcasting) 1-hour late. Inconvenient...sigh...

昨日イスラム暦の新年を迎えました。ヨーロッパでは夏時間が終了。イギリスとサウジアラビアとの時差が2時間から3時間に。JSTV（日本の番組が見られる衛星放送）の放映時間も1時間遅れ。ドラマ等々見たい番組の放映が遅くなり、夜更かししないと見られない。不便です。。。

The new year in Islam is not "A happy new year!!" thing with cheers, crackers and fireworks. The very first day of the Islamic calendar is the date when Prophet Muhammad set out on his migration from Makka to Madinah as a result of persecution. It's not a happy day for them, rather suffering. They say that the meaning of "Hijrah" is to leave something or to abandon it. People might sometimes need to say good-bye to their previous possession and have their hands open to get their new achievement.

イスラム暦の新年ではお祝いをしません。イスラム暦の始まりの日は、予言者ムハンマドが迫害を逃れ、メッカからマディナに移り住んだ日で、イスラム暦「ヒジュラ」は、何かを「置き去る」、「放棄する」という意味の言葉なのだそうです。新たなものを手にするためには、時として、それまで持っていたものを手放し、その手をオープンにしておく必要があるのかもしれません。
